Highlights: Piumotto model.
It is undoubtedly a duty for a producer to unveil, disclose, and highlight the (often hidden) qualities of their own products for the benefit of their customers. And the purpose of most of the previous News is precisely to provide all possible technical details to showcase the quality of the products, provide the right information about materials and finishes, to make future product customers more aware of what they are about to purchase.
This article also serves this purpose, namely to reveal the hidden qualities of Piumotto. And the task appears immediately very easy because Piumotto is the top-of-the-line sofa from the company and is packed with materials of the highest quality. Yet, we already know that this article will probably be pointless because Piumotto is primarily purchased for one fundamental reason:
THE BEAUTY
that the sofa knows how to express in all its forms!
Piumotto is the – seemingly simple – idea of transforming the image that forms in the mind when we think of the word ‘sofa’ into a tangible, sculpted form. It is a model of absolute quality, with comfort ensured by the spaciousness of the backrests, armrests, seats, and the padding composed of feathers. But the technical details fade away in the face of the exemplary cleanliness of the forms, the extraordinary line that the feathers impart to the cushions.
The gaze first identifies the very lightweight metal frame, and then discovers a minimal exposed shell, a well-proportioned armrest with a soft backrest. Piumotto is the ideal sofa for center-stage placement and boasts a line so simple that it’s almost too sophisticated! Piumotto goes beyond being merely a ‘seating object’ and the choice of pure quality; it presents itself as a piece of furniture, a design element that can become part of the home, expressing the taste and character of its inhabitants
We will, however, not neglect our duty! In this article, we will delve into the numerous technical aspects and features that reveal the high quality of the product.
Quality in Summary:
- Structure made of plywood and fir slats.
- Backrest filled with feather fill.
- Seat cushion with feather fill and support in D. 40 polyurethane and memory foam.
- Fully removable and reupholsterable.
- Metal frame painted in black and smoked brown.
Design in Summary:
- Minimal, exposed shell.
- Frame with minimal visibility, elevated from the ground.
- The final result is a very linear product, always tastefully proportioned with a sophisticated touch.
Technical-Quality Details:
The Frame: The frame is made of powder-coated metal, available in smoked brown and black colors. It provides structural support and is screwed onto the sofa’s structure. To remove the frame’s cover for washing, it is necessary to detach the frame. It is supplied separately for easier handling and to prevent damage during transport.
The Structure: It is made of plywood and solid wood, covered in polyurethane and coupled with velveteen. The structure’s covering is fully removable.
The Seat: The seat features sterilized goose feather filling (certified) with an insert of high-resilience deformable material. The seat cover is fully removable.
The Backrest: The backrest cushions are filled with sterilized goose feathers (certified) enclosed in multiple layers of cotton fabric. The backrest covers are fully removable.
We feel it is important to provide a simple warning regarding the maintenance of feather-filled cushions. Cushions filled with feathers tend to deform with use. To maintain their shape, it is necessary to regularly beat and fluff the cushions, even after brief usage. This operation takes only a few seconds but should be done frequently. For those who do not wish to perform this operation or prefer a sofa with a less ‘lived-in’ appearance (more ‘tightly pulled’), we recommend opting for foam-filled cushions (‘rubber’), available in many other models.
Conclusions: Piumotto is the sofa that speaks Italian, capable of adapting to different lifestyles and ways of living all over the world. After all, style and quality are a kind of universal language, the common thread that connects even very distant realities, both in terms of distance and customs. A sofa that expresses the excellence of Made in Italy, interprets the versatility of contemporary homes, and embodies the evolution of the sofa, an absolute protagonist of the living area.
